Proof that the last thing I posted is not like Lalo. Except in the fact that there are sort of super powers involved in Lalo, too. But that is, like, a demi-god thing, not a super-hero thing. Also, everyone is an alien. And has impossible names. ANYWAYS.

FADE IN:

INT. SKIMMER SHIP, BRIDGE - DAY

LEIKR stands beside the bridge view screen, watching the sun and then the planets pass below.

LEIKR (V.O)

(Watching a gas giant pass.)

I do not remember much about my home world. I only know that he was eaten when I was a little boy, by god-killers who are still alive, eating planet after planet, leaving them with no life.

CUT TO:

EXT. DYING PLANET, DROP SHIP POINT - DAY

A storm rages overhead, lightning scorching the ground. In the background there is already a forest of dead trees burning, and people are running for the ship. The earth trembles, and the people try to push past each other to get inside the ship.

LEIKR (V.O)

We had to leave very quickly and a lot of people died. Now we are looking for the god-killers who did this thing. We have not found them yet. But I think...

COMMANDER ANCHJO approaches from another hall. His footsteps can be heard clearly. Leikr touches one hand to the glass of the view screen, disrupting the picture.

LEIKR

(Whispering.)

Nos ayudan a, por favor. (Help us, please.)

Leikr turns and watches Anchjo walk around the corner.

LEIKR (V.O.)

I think now we are becoming just as bad as them.

Leikr snaps to attention as Anchjo approaches. Anchjo stops in front of him.

ANCHJO

You should be with your men, Yld.

They're ready to deploy.

Leikr glances out the view screen again, to where a planet washed in peach and gold is coming into the picture.

LEIKR

(Looking back at Anchjo.)

Sir, I - Permission to speak freely Commander?

Anchjo regards him narrowly for a moment, and Leikr is careful not to look away.

ANCHJO

Permission denied, Yld.

Leikr swallows, thickly, and presses his lips together. Anchjo turns to look out the view screen.

ANCHJO

(Watching the Skimmer's planetary approach.)

We need resources, Yld. You're going to get them.

Anchjo turns back to Leikr.

ANCHJO

I don't like having you here, but your father is a great man. You should do better to live up to his name.

LEIKR

(Stiffly.)

Yes, sir.

ANCHJO

You're dismissed, Yld. Now go join your men.

LEIKR salutes, stiffly, and turns to walk down the hall in the direction from which Anchjo came.

CUT TO:

INT. HIVE SHIP - DAY

ASUN is being dragged down a corridor by her arms. The camera should jerk back and forth, following her from different angles, shaking as if carried by someone running.

ASUN:

(Screaming and struggling.)

Lalo! Lalo!

CUT TO:

Leikr as a boy tries to escape from the grip DIOSCORUS has on him.

LEIKR

(Crying, hysterical.)

Mámá! Mámá!

CUT TO:

Asun being forced to her knees, head on a block. A man approaches holding a heavy ax in one hand. He prepares to bring it down on her neck.

CUT TO:

Leikr struggles against Dioscorus. The sound of an ax falling and striking metal can be heard, distantly. Leikr screams and the ship trembles violently and groans, lights flashing with the fall and rise of his voice, until Dioscorus brings a fist down on the back of his head and knocks him out.

CUT TO:

INT. SKIMMER SHIP, BRIDGE - DAY

Leikr walks down the hall, in the direction Anchjo had come from. Anchjo watches him go.

LEIKR (V.O.)

My father is a monster.
