title: a rose in three acts
author: [personal profile] cridecoeur
rating: pg-13
word count: so small it almost doesn't deserve to be counted. (151, for the curious.)
notes: numbered sections, again. i'm sorry, this seems to just keep happening. this one really, really is john yau's fault though. i think anyone who has read his numbered poetry/fiction fusions would agree with me that if i had not read his work, this never would have happened. they would also understand that i am only scratching the surface of john yau's super strange depths. it's weird guys. but it could be weirder. for one thing, there aren't any centaurs in it. (i still don't understand that one.)

1

A woman tucks a rose behind her ear. A boy at the bus stop picks up a paper and reads about a man who cheats on his wife with the president. The rose takes the stand. Justice slips into another room to freshen her makeup. The president is acquitted. The man is sentenced to make love to his wife for the rest of their lives. The jury hangs.

3

A rose grows beside a rose in the president’s garden. Justice stands at the bus stop waiting for a boy who makes love to the world. A woman reads a newspaper than tells her to freshen her makeup. The jury is acquitted.
